Thanks for joining us for the 2nd last installment of 12 Days of Handmade Christmas.
Today, we decided to make some gifts for the sweet tooth. And my word, are these ever GOOD!
Cookie Cutter Fudge
I had seen this idea on Pinterest (where else do I get ideas? :D), and thought it would be a great way to present and gift some delicious fudge. We used the recipe below (adapted from Betty Crocker), and it turned out AMAZING!
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup mint chocolate chips
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
candy or icing to decorate
Place cookie cutters on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Seal each cookie cutter with foil around the outside. Lightly spray shapes with cooking spray.
Mix chocolate chips, butter and milk together in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1-2 minutes, stopping to stir every 15 seconds. Continue until chips are almost melted. Stir in vanilla.
Pour mixture into cookie cutters, filling to the tops of the molds.
Decorate before placing in the fridge to set.
Carefully remove foil. Gently press fudge out of the molds to serve, or package up and gift as is.
Peppermint Bark
This is another great, easy, and tasty gift to give! You need only have chocolate (dark or semisweet), white chocolate and candy canes.
Melt the chocolate of your choice in a microwave safe bowl. Spread on a parchment lined cookie sheet, then refrigerate until set.
While setting, get the kids involved in smashing the candy canes to smithereens!
Melt the white chocolate and spread over top of the other chocolate layer. Sprinkle crushed candy canes over top, gently pressing down. Refrigerate until set.
Break into pieces and serve, or package it up and gift away!
See you on Friday for our last gift!
