1 cp shortening
1 cp firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cp sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 cp sifted flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cp M&Ms
Blend shortening with sugars in a large bowl. Beat in vanilla and eggs. Sift remaining dry ingredients together. Add to sugar-egg mix, blending well. Stir in 1/2 cp of M&Ms.
Drop by tspful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate with remaining M&Ms. Bake @ 375 for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks, cool completely.
