1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

LOOK

Look beyond yourself and see who it is that you’re forgetting about. My world has become so wrapped up in self lately. I have been allowing things to take over my mind and my heart. I am selfishly absorbed in self and not thinking about others.

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. ~ Philippians 2:4

I want to teach my children to anticipate and see the needs of others around them – by example is the only way that it can be done, and by God changing their hearts. But what kind of example have I been to them? Have I been an example they can look up to, learn from?

The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. ~ 1 Samuel 16:7

What does the LORD see when he looks at my heart? Does he see my courage to do what’s right? Does he see my desire to be committed to my family? Does he see my heart longing for his continued peace and joy?

Look. Inside. What do you see? Is what is there visible outside? Or is it hidden and hurting?

Look.
