This past week has been ridiculously busy. I felt like I had to give summer it’s last hurrah before school starts and cram in all the things we wanted to do over the summer, but didn’t always get to.

Monday – farmer’s market. Tuesday – zoo and splash pad. Wednesday – Niagara Butterfly Conservatory, parks and the falls. Thursday – Centre Island in Toronto. Friday – splash pad and trip up to the cottage.

The one good thing about the insane busyness is that I took more pictures than I have ever taken in a week since our firstborn was birthed. Lots of fodder for this weeks’ Scavenger Hunt Sunday!

1. Old and New

Driving down the streets of Strasburg in Pennsylvania, I caught sight of this old building right beside the funeral home (which was established in 1769!). As you can see by the sign, it is the home of “New Creations” studio. And right under that is the sign for funeral home parking. Old and new.

2. Night Photography (Exploring with a Camera theme – check out post here)

On Wednesday, along with the rest of Ontario, we experienced a massive storm – fortunately for our area, we had only decent winds, torrential rain and lots of lightning and thunder. Areas west of us had tornados, but we fortunately skipped all that. We were parked in a Future Shop parking lot waiting for my hubby and I spent about 20 minutes trying to capture the lightning. This is the ONLY shot I got.

3. Music

The sound of their laughter is music to my ears.

4. Cheesy

My children are the masters of cheesy grins.

5. Sun

I had a really hard time picking for this one! I experimented with sun and flares a lot while we were away last week and got some shots I really like. The first one is from the Niagara Butterfly conservatory. The 2nd one of the monument is in Gettysburg (more about our trip to Pennsylvania coming!).
