Milk Splash

These past 7 weeks I have been doing a fantastic bible study through and on 1 Peter : Kept (by Katie Orr and Lara Williams) with Hello Mornings. I haven’t always been one to really get indepth into scripture study, especially the same passage over for 5 days a week. But I see the benefit and the blessing so much of studying scripture this way, and with others.

Last week we sat in 1 Peter 2:1-12, and verses that stood out to me continually were talking about the priority of God’s word, and fighting, warring, battling against our flesh. This is something that is a constant struggle for me – a constant battle – but one I am willing to fight. My desire to give glory to God has to be rooted and founded in a love for his word and his will above anything that my flesh desires. The influence of the world can and will quickly pull me in and under if I allow the influence of God’s word in my life, FIRST AND FOREMOST, to slip.

I desire Jesus, I desire that he would have in all things the first place.

I long for pure, spiritual milk, that by it I may grow up to salvation (1 Peter 2:2).

I am committed to abstaining from the passions of the flesh, which wage ware against my soul (1 Peter 2:11).

Will you commit to this also today?
